Recognition of Prior Learning
The Australia Institute of Family Counselling recognises prior learning (RPL) and recognition of current competencies (RCC) in view of credit transfer where applicable within the context of the specialised competency-based Christian training program. Only whole units of competency (not portions) may be considered for RPL. Where there is a credit transfer a non-graded assessment result for that unit or portion of the unit may appear on an AIFC academic transcript.
A list of the performance criteria for the relevant units must also be obtained from the AIFC National Office, and each element of competency and performance criteria of the unit carefully checked and evidence of its completion submitted in writing.
Evidence of competency must include a certified copy (by JP, minister of religion, doctor, dentist, solicitor, pharmacist) of training and education, resume of work or life experience, letters of reference, and other evidence you consider valid. Samples of written work may also be required.
Formal testing and assessments may be required.
Applicants for RPL must obtain and complete an Application for Prior Learning Application form from the AIFC National Office or from below.
A fee of $95 per unit, payable in advance, is charged for RPL assessment. This fee covers the cost of assessment and is non-refundable.
