Applying for Austudy/Abstudy

As nationally accredited full-time courses, students are eligible to receive financial assistance from the Australian Government (Austudy/Abstudy).

Applying for Austudy/Abstudy is the responsibility of the student. Information about this and application forms can be obtained from the Austudy Assistance Centre (Tel: 13 24 90).

Your Letter of Acceptance of Enrolment will need to be submitted to Austudy in order for your application to be processed. You should emphasise that the course is a full-time accredited course.

It will be necessary to quote the following reference numbers:

Registered Provider Name: Australian Institute of Family Counselling Ltd.
AIFC National Provider Code: 88037
CRICOS Provider Number: 02400A
CentreLink Provider Number: 1P019

National Codes are as follows:

  • 80882ACT for the Certificate IV in Christian Counselling
  • 80883ACT for the Diploma of Counselling and Family Therapy (Christian)
  • 80884ACT for the Advanced Diploma of Counselling and Family Therapy (Christian)
  • 80896ACT for the Vocational Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Family Therapy (Christian)

Whilst the Diploma course extends across the full 40 week study periods of year one and two, students can only claim Austudy/Abstudy for the year one and the first two terms of year two. This is because the final two terms of year two do not constitute a full-time study load. Prospective Diploma students are advised to take this into account in their planning and to keep the appropriate government agency informed of their correct student status.
