Thank you for your interest in the nationally and internationally popular Advanced Diploma of Counselling and Family Therapy (Christian) course conducted by the Australian Institute of Family Counselling (AIFC).
The main purpose of the course is to restore, equip and mobilise individuals and families for the Great Commission - discipling nations. God is highly committed to working with families in this way. His will, expressed to Abraham, is that all the families of the earth be blessed (Genesis 12:3). In being part of this great work, AIFC is simply a servant of the local church. It is God's work not ours, and it is thrilling to be part of something that he is distinctly prospering.
The disciples had three years of intensive training by Jesus. The training that is essential to effectively carry out God's will in ministry is never more needed than in counselling because intervening into the lives of other people is serious business. An objective of the training program is to elevate the general standard of Christian counselling in the nation. One of our favourite Bible passages in this regard is, "Blessed be the Lord my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle" (Psalm 144:1).
The popular competency-based course is a comprehensive, biblical, up-to-date and main-stream presentation of Christian counselling and family therapy, and it is Government accredited and nationally recognised. Covering a wide range of topics, the course integrates theology, psychology and spirituality. Because we want you to succeed, participants are personally mentored throughout the course, and attendance at training seminars is designed to cause minimal disruption to normal, everyday life.
We are available to help you as much as possible. If you desire further information please do not hesitate to contact your local coordinator, or the National AIFC Office.
