About the Certificate

The Certificate in Christian Counselling is a program of seven modules designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to become an effective people helper from a distinctly Christian perspective. The content is based on our popular Diploma of Counselling course without having to complete assessment requirements.

The Certificate is a popular option with pastoral workers in churches, church small group leaders, school chaplains, Christian NFPs, youth workers, social workers, teachers, parents, and others who may not be able to undertake long-term, accredited study. To successfully complete the certificate, you need approximately 4 hours per week over 7 weeks.

You will learn how to be a better, more effective communicator using active listening skills and how to explore and promote social and emotional well-being for people. Other learning is how to recognise and offer support to people at risk of crisis; how to support people struggling with mental health concerns and how to support individuals experiencing grief and loss.

The Certificate can be completed online over 8 weeks. Students can engage in weekly online sessions to help them stay on track and connect with their student peers and community.
