About the Skill Set

Introductory price for 2023 only.

Are you looking to offer comfort and support to someone going through a difficult time in life, but find yourself unsure of what to say or how to be there for them? We all encounter changes, losses, and grief in our lives, and knowing the right words and actions can make a world of difference when providing support rooted in the Hope of Christ to those around you.

This skill set is tailored for individuals who wish to stand alongside members of their community or church, supporting them through their grief journey.

Skill sets are packaged units, or modules, designed to give you a working understanding and skills in a particular topic area.  Skill sets benefit you by giving you the skills to support those within your circle.

Self-paced over four weeks and fully online, eliminating the need for live training sessions. Skill sets are gaining recognition as a valuable form of modern training, offering various benefits such as skill enhancement, meeting industry demands, and serving as a gateway to further education.

What’s included in this Skill Set?
This skill set includes unit readers, pre-recorded video training, and supplementary reading resources. A multiple-choice quiz to assess your learning is the final step in the process and triggers an online Certificate.

  • The four elements of lament
  • Why lamenting is one of the most theologically-informed things a person can do

How to integrate this practice for effective grief and loss work with clients

MODULE 2

Supporting People Experiencing Grief and Loss

This module describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to the needs of people who are experiencing loss, grief and bereavement.
