God Come Search My Heart – Weekly Devotional with Susan Daniel

Susan Daniel marvels at God’s greatness, sacrificial love, grace, power and holiness that transforms our lives if we allow Him in.

Psalm 139: 23-24 The Passion Translation (TPT): God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares.

My prayer to God, “See if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your glorious, everlasting ways—the path that brings me back to you.”

I have recently discovered The Passion Translation and whilst promoting aifc in Koorong the other week I ‘somehow’ bought myself a couple of books to study (you can purchase various books instead of one full Bible). I may be a Koorongaholic, but I’m sure I could stop buying anytime I want to.

As I was exercising in our garage last week I looked up as I often do to consider the magnificence of the fig trees in our yard. One has several new shoots that nestle in around it and I was thinking how it was like a child hugging the legs of someone safe, and couldn’t help but think that it was like being nestled in close to Our Father. I have come to appreciate nature and have a new depth of appreciation and love for our wonderful and amazing Creator.

As I was contemplating this picture, the sun that had been hiding behind some heavy rain clouds all of a sudden appeared and I was struck by what I could now see. Where I’d been thinking the picture of the tree was beautiful, I could now see the dusty window, and this now marred the view of the tree.

It made me think that we (I) often go through life thinking all is great and then the Son shines on an area and we (I) realise the view is in fact marred. I now see with eyes that see as He sees. Once we have been touched by His beautiful kindness we are no longer the same, we no longer see the same.

That beautiful fig tree is a gentle reminder to me to continually seek Him, to invite Him to continue to expose me to myself – God that I will be like You.

As I consider others this week, Father I pray that they will know Your wisdom, they will know Your guidance and Your blessing upon them and all they love and do.

Father, I ask You to bless all who read this message, that they will have a sense of Your presence, for truly Father there is nothing that compares to being with You. God, we pray that they will prosper as their souls prosper and Father we pray that for ourselves in this day as well.

Lord, we honour You and tell You we love and adore You. We want to bless You Lord God and invite You to help us bring glory to You in our words, our actions and our thoughts – in all that we do, may You be glorified, I pray in Jesus’ holy name. Amen

A message that brings hope

“Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvellous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices and live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.

Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes”. Romans 12:1-2 The Passion Translation (TPT)

Be Blessed.
