The Lord Is My Banner - Devotional - aifc

Susan Daniel’s devotional reminds us all to seek God for all the challenges we face in life, and to praise Him for all that he has done and will do for us.

Then I will say to my soul, “Don’t be discouraged; don’t be disturbed,
for I fully expect my Savior-God to break-through for me.
Then I’ll have plenty of reasons to praise him all over again.”
Yes, living before his face is my saving grace!
Psalms 43:5 TPT

Standing this side of unanswered prayers can be overwhelming. The battle can be long & weary, and there are times we need an Aaron & Hur to support us (Exodus 17:8-15).

The battle against the Amalekites was long and hard, and it involved an army; a team and our faithful God. The end result was a sure knowing that the Lord is my Banner. I imagine there were times throughout the battle that it sure didn’t feel like that. Weariness and isolation can rob us of our victories.

Enter faith and obedience. Joshua was told what to do – and did it (v9 & 10). The army were told what to do – and did it. Moses gave his word (v9) and did it. God gave His Word (Exodus 3:10 & the entire Bible) and kept it.

The size of our faith does not negate the pleasure it brings God, nor the fruit it will bear. Faith need only be as small as a mustard seed to please Him, and for us to declare & believe God’s promises; and see Him be the Lord is my Banner over our circumstances.

“Now faith brings our hopes into reality and becomes the foundation needed to acquire the things we long for. It is all the evidence required to prove what is still unseen.” Hebrews 11:1 TPT

Let’s be people who seek and see Him in our circumstances; people who encourage and support each other; stirring each other in their faith and their journey.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 NKJV

Seeking Him and giving Him praise in the midst of the battle gives us victories and provision in abundance for all we need. Surely, we will ‘see’ Him, and we will sing together: The Lord is my Banner!

“Lord, you are great and worthy of the highest praise! For there is no end to the discovery of the greatness that surrounds you.” Psalms 145:3 TPT

You have built a stronghold by the songs of babies. Strength rises up with the chorus of singing children. This kind of praise has the power to shut Satan’s mouth. Childlike worship will silence the madness of those who oppose you.” Psalms 8:2 TPT

Praise God:

Because He is our Banner and He is the One who fights for us.

That He is with us always, and He never fails.
