Weekly Devotional with Susan Daniel - aifc

A message from Susan Daniel sent to aifc staff members on 26 August 2019.

Good morning wonderful people!

and he (Solomon) said: “Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.” 1 Kings 8:23 NKJV

I received a phone call from a student who wanted to encourage all those associated with the delivery of aifc’s mission and purpose. If you’re reading this then the encouragement is specifically for you.

The student praised God for how amazing He is in the way He works in our lives. They had been questioning again why they’re doing the course, especially because the units this term were pretty tough. Their words were: The units being studied were difficult and took you into the mess of life

This student has been seeing a client and had been praying for them to receive a revelation from God. They drew the parallel to Esther and how the book demonstrates a mighty God though His name is not mentioned. They had not overtly talked of God in the counselling sessions however they had learned through aifc how to image Him well as they use the skills they’ve been equipped with.

This student’s client phoned to say,” thank you” and said they had started searching for what God wants them to do (there had been talk of them looking at God & Buddhism). God revealed Himself to the client who is now making a big impact in a well-known area of need.

  • This student is making a difference because they chose to be obedient and stay the course.
  • This client is making a difference to many because of their obedience to what God revealed.

You are making a difference because you are faithful in stepping up each day, in praying for aifc, in discipling students, in writing/designing course material, in answering questions on the phone, in overseeing your area of expertise in a way that ultimately ensures a student’s journey of equipping is smooth.

Know this: you make a difference. Let’s personalise that:

  1. Make. A. Difference.

Our work is often hard and this is just a small sample of the fruit of it. You are making a difference in a huge area of need you might never visit… know this: God’s fingerprints are to be seen all over the place – because of you.

Be encouraged further by our student’s words: What you’re doing is amazing. God is busy working with and through us – because of you.

The student read from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

Wait with Me for a while. I have much to tell you. You are walking along the path I have chosen for you. It is both a privilege and a perilous way: experiencing My glorious Presence heralding that reality to others. Sometimes you feel presumptuous to be carrying out such an assignment.

Do not worry about what other people think of you. The work I am doing in you is hidden at first. But eventually blossoms will burst forth, and abundant fruit will be born. Stay on the path of Life with Me. Trust Me wholeheartedly, letting My Spirit fill you with Joy and Peace.”

It’s not about me… go and make a difference in today as you Seek GodLet’s take a moment (or more) to give Him thanks to Him.

Praise God:

For His great benefits; for His mercies; His amazing love and grace. Thank Him that He continues to work in the hearts and lives of people.

  • Thank Him that He has called us by name.
  • Thank Him for His salvation… oh let’s give Him our praise

Enjoy our God and His blessings on this day. He’s got you.
