You Know You’re a Christian Mother When... - aifc

… even before conception you begin to pray for your unborn child knowing they are your gift from God.

… when you’re nursing your newborn baby and you’re in awe of the creator with growing love for your child.

…you go without sleep during those two hourly nappy changes and middle of the night baby feeds and through sheer exhaustion you still consider motherhood a blessing.

… you hurt when your child hurts emotionally or physically, and in those mad rushes to hospital you pray your most heartfelt prayers to God for your child’s health.

…your little one makes a mess and you need to bathe the child and clean up the aftermath, though you’re exhausted and feel like you’ve got no more to give. Love and faith keeps you going.

…you’re always alert watching out for the curious toddler who can get hurt, or you’re up in a flash  when you hear cries in the night because being a mother is a 24/7 job.  Sleep becomes a luxury and you thank God for it when you can get some!

…you take your child to playgroup and then to school and you’re the taxi to play dates, sports and take them to church because you want them to know God. You also understand fellowship fosters good friendships and a sense of belonging.

…you help with the homework, take the kids to the park, go for walks and bike rides, go to parties and you’re the nurse when they get hurt.  If that’s you thank God for your gift of multitasking!

…you have a strong bond with your child and are emotionally supportive. You also make yourself approachable and available.  You’re trusted and depended on for your wisdom and kindness.

…you teach them to pray and give them life skills encouraging independence and to lean on God and not their own understanding. You’re their living example of faith.

…your child grows up and you feel lost without the kid you raised in the family home, but you’re proud of the adult they’ve become because you’ve stepped up to your role as a Christian mother giving it your best shot.

…you’re there for the milestones, birthday’s graduation and then you watch your child get married and you welcome a son or a daughter into the family to love, bless & pray for them too.

…you keep praying for the newlyweds unborn children and when your grandchildren come along you’re there for them as their blessing!

…you do all of the above when your children are fostered or adopted and you care and pray for them for them the same as your own. You are a very special person and a huge blessing to those who may otherwise never know God.

Grandmother

… nothing goes according to plan and you continue to love your kids unconditionally, always praying for them, knowing that they’re in God’s hands and that God is faithful.

…you’re a warrior for God and for your family and you deserve to be loved and recognised for your all your efforts. You work hard and your commitment needs to be acknowledged even if you don’t expect a thing.

Happy Mother’s Day!
